String Chair
Light Chair is built from poplar wood and cotton string, exploring lightness as both a physical and visual quality. The frame is reduced to the fewest parts needed to hold the body, while cotton string is threaded through the wood to form the seat and back. Without solid surfaces, light and air pass through the chair, letting it sit quietly in a space rather than fill it. The result is a chair that is easy to lift and move, and that feels as light as it looks.
